One Direction send fans wild at US ‘X Factor’ finale

One Direction sent pulses racing as they arrived at CBS Studios in Hollywood for the finale of US ‘X Factor’.

The British boy band wore matching black outfits as they spoke to hosts Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian on the red carpet.

Host Khloe was a vision in green lace ahead of the big night as she posed for photographs.

Judges Demi Lovato and Britney Spears went full out glamour on the red carpet but it was LA Reid who was the victorious judge on the night.

His act Tate Stevens was named the winner over 13-year-old runner-up Carly Rose Sonenclar.

After “a nice break” L.A Reid ditches the X-Factor to concentrate on the day job.

L.A. Reid is going back to his day job and leaving the X-Factor.

The 56 year-old TV talent show judge has admitted he’s kind of neglected Epic Records where he is chairman and decided to call it quits on Simon Cowell’s US version of the show.

Talking to Access Hollywood he said, ‘I have decided that I will not return to The X Factor next year. It saddens me a little bit, but only a little bit. I have a company to run that I’ve kind of neglected.’

Hey and it’s not a small fry label either, Epic records plays host to some big music names meaning that they probably could do with the commander at the helm full time.

But don’t worry, he’s not fallen out with Simon and the pair are still good buddies with Reid saying, “I love Simon. We have a great relationship. We have fun together, we talk, we laugh and do bad things, we’re friends.”

Ah, friends!

Referring to his stint on the show as “a nice break” he admitted it was time to get back to work.

Ratings on the show which include Britney Spears as judge never got to the intended target with a source saying, “Producers were hoping to pull in between 15-20 million viewers but the show hasn’t reached those expectations and in a recent episode that clashed with the World Series only 5.7 million watched.

“Those numbers add up to cost cutting and Britney will be expendable. So, considering Fox has already renewed The X Factor for a third season, producers will be looking to spend less on the production of the show, including the judges’ salaries.”

With break time over for LA, crunch time approaches for Simon when he has to decide his next move for the show.

Nicole Scherzinger was looking very proud of her hard work as she posed with her two contestants at The X Factor press call.

Standing for pictures with Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur, the trio are preparing for the final in Manchester.

Fellow judge Gary Barlow also stood beside his act Christopher Maloney, who seemed to be in high spirits as he gave a thumbs up to the cameras.

It looked like Nicole Scherzinger was James Arthur’s lucky mascot as he performed on stage in Middlesbrough.

The X Factor judge donned a Middlesbrough FC shirt to dance on stage with her contestant as he performed in his home town.

But it seems Nicole has had a big impact on James off stage as well as on it.

The 24-year-old contestant told Look magazine that the former pussycat doll saved him from his spiralling depression by giving him a place on the X Factor.

We bet James thinks his mentor is pretty Scher-mazing!

X Factor finalist James Arthur has been putting his Twitter wars with comedian Frankie Boyle behind him by taking Nicole Scherzinger home with him.

The 23-year-old singer-songwriter was snapped outside a hotel in Middlesbrough with his mentor Nicole as he got ready to show her around his hometown.

The leather clad pair were riding motorbikes as they filmed James’ coming home celebrations ahead of The X Factor final.

Mobbed by fans, James stopped to hug and sign autographs, whilst Nicole looked like she was having a brilliant time on the back of her bike!

Christopher Maloney carries the shopping for his mum

X Factor contestant Christopher Maloney took a break from the studio as he went to visit his mum, Patricia, in Liverpool.

The singer, who deleted his Twitter account after receiving death threats, was snapped helping his mum carry in the food shopping from the car.

Taking the day off from his gruelling X Factor schedule, Christopher looked in high spirits as he shut the gate behind them.

Nicole Scherzinger has apologised for swearing during the X Factor results show when her act James Arthur was in the sing off against axed Ella Henderson.

The X Factor judge said sorry for introducing her act as “the effing brilliant James Arthur” on live telly last night.

After recovering from the shock result, the former Pussycat Doll regained her composure and apologised on the Xtra Factor.

Apologising for the slip, Nicole admitted that she was very “passionate” about Ella as well as James and couldn’t help but get caught up in the drama.

But Nicole and fellow judge Louis Walsh seemed keen to put their traumatic night behind them as they headed out for dinner together.

Whilst Louis appeared in good spirits as he grinned at cameras, the 34-year-old was looking far more downcast in a form-fitting high-necked patterned dress.

Simon Cowell tweets his disbelief at Ella Henderson’s X Factor exit

She may have been axed from The X Factor but Ella Henderson’s early exit has got the attention of Simon Cowell.

The music mogul took to Twitter to express his disbelief that the the 16-year-old singer had been voted out, posting ‘Ella! Gone??? Unbelievable’.

It must have been some consolation to Ella, who lost out in the public vote against contestant James Arthur despite being tipped for the final.

Her elimination prompted outcry on Twitter, which included a number of celebrities.

Former X Factor winner Leona Lewis tweeted ‘No way should Ella and James be singing against each other’, whilst Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack posted ‘that was a sad show. Ill miss ella xxx’ [sic].

However, the only person that didn’t seem surprised by her exit was Ella herself.

Speaking on ITV’s This Morning, the singer revealed that she woke up on Sunday morning knowing she would be sent home that night.

Clearly her “gut feeling” was unfortunately right!

A casual Harry Styles returns to the UK amid Taylor Swift dating rumours

Harry Styles was looking casual as he landed back in the UK amid rumours that he might be seeing Taylor Swift.

The pair sparked the rumours after eyewitnesses reported that they were getting close at X Factor rehearsals.

A source told E! Online that the One Direction singer was spotted hanging out with Taylor as she prepared to perform on the show.

It seems Harry was sat with the “Love Story” singer’s mum as he watched her rehearsals.

Apparently the British heartthrob has been sweeping Taylor off her feet, literally, as the insider said at the end of rehearsals, Harry threw her over his shoulder and carried her off stage.

Since Taylor recently split with Conor Kennedy, maybe Harry will help heal her heart.
