The Splash News picture of Madonna’s 15 year-old daughter Lourdes casually smoking in New York, caused a firestorm of publicity and has prompted the mum of four to speak up on parenting saying “Every day is a negotiation, but cigarette smoking, I’m not very fond of.”
Which is bizarre when in the role model to millions latest video “Girls Gone Bad”, she’s seen seductively holding a cigarette.
Good luck with those negotiations.
Speaking on the Today show she admitted, “I’m probably not as tough as I should be. I think I need to be maybe tougher”

Madonna looked at the problems of parenting philosophically stating “we all have our challenges” and “so far I’ve survived with sanity and humor intact”. And with her kids, she ask the typical mom questions like “Have you done your homework?” and “Why are you wearing that?”
But when you’re Madonna and so much of your career has been about shock value and breaking rules, could this be a case of “Mama don’t preach?”
