Michael Douglas Gets Back To Work

It looks like things are getting back to normal for Michael Douglas, who is already set to get back to work.

The 66-year-old actor, who has just completed an eight-week course of chemotherapy after being diagnosed with throat cancer, will be playing Liberace in a biopic about the iconic entertainer.


“I’ve got a bunch of tapes of performances,” he said.  “I’m thinking. I’m a blank slate.”


A blank slate that has his work cut out for him…

Before filming begins in either May or June of next year, Douglas will be taking piano and singing lessons to prepare for the role.  

Luckily, the star is feeling strong.

Not only is he eating solid foods again, fans will be grateful to know his distinctly sexy voice was not affected by the treatment.  

A voice he’ll surely need to take on Liberace.

We spotted the couple leaving their home for the holidays looking absolutely fab.

Douglas, who is recovering from cancer, appeared a bit thin but otherwise pretty good.

Michael Douglas’ Get Well Diet

Michael Douglas has lost forty pounds since being diagnosed with cancer, and docs are telling him to “bulk up.”

According to sources, the star has been put on a healthy diet which includes raw fats, organic liver, creamy pasta and chicken
soup.

    “He’s so fragile
that doctors are worried he won’t be strong enough to recover from
treatment which has left him     weak.”

We spotted Douglas sipping on some frosty coffee while walking in New York.

Not sure if that’s part of the “healthy diet” but hey…it tastes good!

Despite Battling Cancer, Michael Douglas Is Still A Dotting Dad

Michael Douglas who looks like he’s lost a ton of weight due to his battle with throat cancer isn’t letting all the chemo slow him down. The Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps star mustered up the strength to take daughter Carys to school this morning in New York City and even flashed a big smile for the photographers.

After completing an eight-week regimen of radiation and chemotherapy earlier this month, Michael Douglas still manages to put a smile on his face while walking his dog Figaro in New York City.

The Wall Street star, who looks visibly thinner, was diagnosed with Stage IV throat cancer and made the announcement on the Late Show with David Letterman in September.

The star, who recently announced he is on his final round of chemotherapy, has six weeks of recovery following his last treatment.

Michael Douglas: Stress Contributed To Throat Cancer

Speaking to The Daily Mirror, actor Michael Douglas believes that stress contributed to his
developing stage four throat cancer.

When you look at his
amazing career you’d think he could handle most pressures, but perhaps watching
his son go behind bars this April was too much for the actor currently in New
York promoting his latest movie Wall
Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.

On the up side, he’s about
to celebrate 10 years of marriage to Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones who he
says he’ll savor the moments with, plus he hopes to be in good health by the
time she turns forty this year.

Chemotherapy has messed up
his taste buds but fighter Michael says his plans are to lick the cancer, which
will probably take four or five months.

He’s also looking forward
to a good glass of wine when his taste returns.
