Adele’s ‘21’ Overtakes Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ in the UK

Adele’s sophomore album ‘21’ is now the 5th best selling album in UK history.

Adele’s album ’21′ has just reached quite the milestone!

The soul singing diva’s sophomore LP has just overtaken Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’, to become the 5th best selling album in UK history!

Figures from the Official Charts Company have revealed that the Rolling in the Deep singer’s second album has currently sold 4,274,300 copies, which is 500 more than Jackson’s Thriller.

In the 15 months since its release, 21 has also spent a total of 65 weeks at #1 in the UK, and has outsold Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black LP to become the highest-selling UK record of the 21st century.

Adele is certainly rolling in the achievements! Congrats!

Amy Winehouse’s ‘Lioness’ Hits Number One in UK

Amy Winehouse posthumous album hits number 1 in the UK.

Amy Winehouse has shot to the top of the album charts!

According to the late singer’s record company, Island Records, her posthumous album ‘Lioness: Hidden Treasures’, which features covers and original tracks, is currently the top-selling album in Britain.

Upon hearing the news Amy’s father Mitch tweeted:

‘Just been told. Amy at number 1. …My heart is sad but bursting with pride.’

Some of the proceeds from the album will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which was set up in the singer’s memory to help fund charities that provide help and support to young people.

Mitch also added:

‘’140,000 sold = £140,000 to foundation in one day. Well done baby.’

Amy’s work speaks volumes, and her latest accomplishment comes as no surprise, may she live on through her music, forever.
