The
end draws near for two of the most popular characters in Doctor Who, as the
cast and crew head New York to start filming their final ever scenes.
Karen Gillan, who plays Amy Pond, and Arthur Darvill, who plays on screen hubby Rory Williams, were shooting in Central Park for what leading actor Matt Smith has promised to be an “incredible” departure.
Matt who plays the 11th incarnation of the Doctor and Karen practiced scenes on one of the big rocks in the park and during down time studiously sent out a few texts. Then once the fans heard they were there a flock of smiling faces followed the team as they did the tourism thing.
Writer Stephen Moffat chose New York as the backdrop for the episode telling fans to expect tragedy as well as weeping angels who are monsters that appear as statues that move when you blink. Scary huh?
We caught up with Richard Gere today in New York’s Central Park. The legendary Hollywood actor was filming Arbitrage, a film about a hedge fund magnate whose desperation to make a deal sends his financial empire into ruins.
With the recent turn the economy has taken the last several years, expect Hollywood to pump out more and more financial based thrillers.
