Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan looked every inch the red carpet superstars at the opening of the Cannes Film Festival. 

Posing together for photographs, the pair wowed ahead of a screening of their highly anticipated movie, The Great Gatsby. 

Whilst the Titanic star suited up for his big night, Carey dazzled despite the rain as she slipped into a long pale dress. 

The famous actors were joined by a host of A-list stars on the rain soaked carpet. 

Co-star Tobey Maguire looked dapper on the red carpet whilst Nicole Kidman managed to maintain her unusual hairstyle under big umbrellas.

Dressed in an immaculate white dress, model Cindy Crawford brought some Cannes glamour to the night whilst Isla Fisher wowed in a tiered red gown. 

Georgia May Jagger followed the red theme, showing off some skin in her cutout dress whilst Cara Delevingne dressed up in black lace.

Pattinson will apparently play part of Carey’s love life, but her real love in this film is apparently a life of crime.

She stars in this true story of a femme fatale who kidnaps the town’s richest man with the help of her boyfriend, then after they bury him in a box, things start to go bad…

Pattinson continues proving that he done with the fantasy… He’s also starring in the upcoming military thriller, Mission Blacklist, telling the true story of the hunt for Saddam Hussein’s location.

So the Twilight alum has at least two upcoming, realistic movies? True story.

Congratulations to Carey Mulligan who was named Best Actress at the 13th annual British Independent Film Awards.

Mulligan, who graced the red carpet earlier in a stunning red Prabal Gurung dress, beat out Manjinder Virk, Ruth Sheen, Andrea Riseborough and Sally Hawkins to the award.

She won over the judges for her portrayal of Kathy in the film Never Let Me Go, a powerful story revolving around three friends who grow up together at an English boarding school and who find out they are genetically engineered clones destined to become organ donors.

Wall Street 2 actress Carey Mulligan’s career may start
roaring like the 1920′s. The British actress just landed the part of
Daisy Buchanan in the upcoming Hollywood adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s
The Great Gatsby.

Talk about the American dream.

Esteemed actresses such as Scarlett Johansson, Natalie
Portman and Blake Lively all competed to play the glamorously shallow
character.

But it was Mulligan who reportedly nailed the audition
that convinced director Baz Luhrmann [Bazz Lerman] to give her the role.

According to reports, the news caused the actress to
burst into tears of joy on the red carpet at the Council of Fashion Designers
of America awards.

Leonardo DiCaprio is lined up to play the lead of young
millionaire Jay Gatsby, with Tobey Maguire taking on the role of Nick Carraway.

A big-screen interpretation of the beloved novel has not
been attempted since 1974, but it’s safe to say everyone will be waiting for
the green light to see Mulligan’s performance.

Her breakup with Shia LaBeouf may have been difficult, but Carey Mulligan has a Hollywood crush on someone who appears to be the polar opposite of her ex. 

At the Young Hollywood Panel at the AFI Fest in Los Angeles, the Wall Street 2 actress admitted that she has the hots for Extra’s Mario Lopez. 

The 25-year-old says that while he’s hosting his red carpet events, every time she sees the Saved by the Bell alum she is a complete disaster, blushing and flushed with excitement. 

Although Lopez now has a family of his own, Mulligan says the crush is nothing new. It first developed when she saw the actor at Venice’s Muscle Beach when she was 11.
