Britney Spears could still face trial for driving without a valid license.
A judge yesterday (Wednesday) denied the pop princess's plea to have the charge against her dismissed.
The singer's attorney believes his client is getting worse treatment because she is a high profile celebrity. Michael Flanagan told E! News,
"The law is clear. She should have just been issued a notice to correct pursuant to the vehicle code. They did not do that. They just moved to prosecute. And she corrected it by obtaining a valid California license before she even got the notice."
Britney, 26, found herself in legal hot water in September last year, after she allegedly hit a parked car in Studio City, California.
She was charged with hit and run, and driving without a license - but the hit and run charge was eventually dropped.
Britney's lawyers have since been trying to get the remaining charge dismissed.
But Judge James Steele has thrown out their latest attempt, meaning an October trial could still take place.

It's Britney, b*tch. The recovering pop wreck has confirmed that she WILL open this weekend's MTV Video Music Awards.
But the world will not see a repeat performance of last year's cringe-worthy singing disaster.
A source told a US magazine that Britney Spears' appearance would not include a musical number. The Toxic singer said in a statement,
"MTV has long played an important role in my career, how can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs?
I'm excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and be nominated."
Britney's camp has long denied that a performance from the pop princess was in the works.
"Britney Spears will not be performing at the VMAs this year. I'm telling you officially and unequivocally," said manager Larry Rudolph as saying last week.
Rudolph's words came 12 months after Britney raised eyebrows at the 24th VMAs, with a rocky opening performance of single 'Gimme More'.
This year, the singer - who has been nominated 16 times but never won a Moon Man - is up for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year.
It is still not known how she will open the show.

Britney Spears wasted no time in showing off her bikini body, as she lounged by a hotel pool in Las Vegas over the weekend.
The pop princess, who has been getting steadily back in shape, flaunted her flat stomach and toned muscles as she sunbathed at the Mirage's Bare Pool.
Wearing her favorite "Love Kills" white bikini and oversized shades, the 26-year-old singer chatted to pals and sipped on water as she soaked up the rays.
A security team kept a careful eye on Britney, whose conservator father Jamie was nowhere in sight.
"Britney seemed to be having a great time," one onlooker said.
"She looked so fit and healthy, in great shape - just like the old Britney.
"She's clearly come a long way since her troubles earlier in the year."

Britney Spears impersonator Derrick Barry performed a choreographed routine of "Baby One More Time" on "America's Got Talent", leaving the judges to make some outspoken comments about his impersonation of the pop princess. Positive comments were made by David Hasselhoff, who said "I'm questioning my sexuality", after watching Barry's toned figure and cleavage in action, while Sharon Osbourne said "I just love you - I love Britney. I think there's room for two Britneys".
However, British judge Piers Morgan was less positive, stating "I don't think, personally, that grown men should be wearing school girl outfits and pretending to be Britney Spears". But Barry was unrepentant, claiming that "Toxic" singer Britney Spears was his inspiration and defended his routine by saying "There may be people or critics that don't approve of what I do and they may not approve of her, but I'm here because she is so talented. Regardless of what Morgan thought, the audience certainly enjoyed watching Derrick Barry impersonate Spears.

Britney Spears stepped out over the weekend looking trim (although a little glum), as she treated herself to a day at Pottery Barn in Beverly Hills. Her white vest and blue jeans combo revealed a less curvaceous Britney and proved the singer has most definitely been dropping the pounds.
Onlookers reported Spears bought an electronics charger and some room spray in a separate store, adding, "Britney looked healthy and relaxed and seemed to be enjoying herself. There were only a couple of photographers outside but she carried on as if they weren't there."
