The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were given a rapturous reception as they visited Cambridge.
The royal couple, who attended their engagement at Cambridge Guildhall in the Market Square, were clearly popular with the locals.
Stopping to speak to the crowd of thousands, the Duchess was given numerous bouquets of flowers and Prince William was delighted to receive a baby grow with the slogan ‘Daddy’s little co-pilot’.
The pair braved the elements on the balcony of the Guildhall though Kate’s new haircut took a battering in the wind.
It’s an important visit for the royal couple as it’s the first time they have visited their namesake city since becoming the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
