According to TMZ, Jermaine says he’s making the change for “artistic reasons…”

So far Jermaine has just filed the request, and in order for it to become official a judge will have to approve it. Then it apparently has to be publicly announced and printed in a local publication…
We’re not sure why Jermaine would want to give up his family’s famous name… We suppose it might just be a ploy to get more media attention for himself and his individual career… But who would really fall for that?
