Ariel Winter’s family divided over abuse allegations

Modern Family star Ariel Winter’s family divided over abuse claims

“It’s all untrue, “it’s all untrue”

They’re the words of Ariel Winters mom Chrisoula (Crystal) Workman as she denies abusing her 14 year-old daughter and star of Modern Family.

Speaking to People, she said she has a doctors letter stating that she’s never been abused and stylists letters stating the same.

Ariel has been removed and placed under the guardianship of older sister Shanelle Gray who according to TMZ was also removed from her mom’s home as a young child based on similar abuse claims.

Older brother Jimmy Workman who played Pugsley in the Addams Family movies spoke out in defense of his mom telling Us Weekly there is no truth to the allegations. And seemingly referring to Shanelle he said, the ones 20 years ago weren’t true either.

Court papers were filed last month stating Ariel, who plays Alex Dunphy in the hit show alleges her mother subjected her to “ongoing physical abuse, slapping, hitting and pushing, plus emotional abuse such as vile name-calling, personal insults about minor and minor’s weight, attempts to sexualize minor and deprivation of food etc, for an extended period of time.”

But Jimmy added “This is a mother who does everything for her kids” adding that she misses Ariel and wants her to come home.

The follow up court hearing is set for November 20th, but for now, mom Chris has to stay 100 yards away from her daughter at all times.
