Michelle Heaton has spoken about her high chances of getting cancer and how she wants her daughter Faith ‘to have a mum’.
The former Liberty X singer was diagnosed with the BRCA2 gene earlier this year, meaning she has an 80% chance of contracting cancer.
In an emotional interview for ITV’s Lorraine programme, Michelle explained that if anything were to happen, she’d rather her husband Hugh Hanley met someone else so daughter Faith could have a mother.
Michelle is currently considering getting a double mastectomy and to have her ovaries removed to reduce the risk of cancer.
As her chances of having another child are low, she feels lucky to already have one daughter, saying “I’m fortunate that I have one gorgeous child, but of course I’d love more”.
