After days of hype, both NBC’s The Voice and Fox’s X Factor aired at the same time last night with the winner being…
The Voice.
The show scored about a quarter more viewers during their head to head battle with ten point seven million viewers to X-factors seven point five million.
Simon Cowell has already been vocally seething at what he sees as NBC’s deliberate ploy to sabotage the opening episode of the X Factor and was hoping for retribution saying, “You know what, I think this could backfire on them, There’s a lot of buzz about the first episode. I’ve seen it and it’s sensational. My opinion is, that they’ve done this because they don’t want people to watch the X Factor”
They scheduled the clash regardless of what Cowell described as a gentleman’s agreement that such a thing wouldn’t happen.
Cowell added, “I don’t like these silly games, you know why? It’s because it cheats the viewers”
It also means that shows judge Britney Spears loses out to musical rival and former mousketeer Christina Aguilera on The Voice.
But it’s early days and Simon isn’t one to take things lying down. So stay tuned, to either show.
