Robert Pattinson has braved his first interview since his public break-up with Kristen Stewart. 

Giving the impression that this interview could not have come at a worse time, the Twilight star squirmed his way through an interview on The Daily Show with host Jon Stewart. 

The British actor has been avoiding the public eye since the cheating scandal involving Kristen Stewart erupted, but R-Pattz seemed keen to avoid the topic. 

With an attempt to mimic a girly gossiping session, host Jon produced two tubs of ice cream, announcing “we’re just a couple of gals talking”.  

The most Jon could produce was a giggle from Rob when the cheeky host told him to “kick her to the curb”. 

Rob blamed his awkwardness on his reluctance to hire a publicist.

“My biggest problem in life is that I’m cheap. I didn’t hire a publicist. And in every awkward interview, normally actors get everything scripted. I’m going to hire a publicist”.   

Yesterday, Rob was also pictured at the premiere of his new film Cosmopolis at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
