After beating out 100,000 competitors who auditioned for Simon Cowell’s singing show the X Factor, winner Melanie Amaro has a lot to be proud of!
It’s not every day you win a 5 million dollar recording contract and a starring role in a Pepsi commercial.
The 19 year-old said, “I’m so proud of myself. I’m proud of the accomplishments I’ve come to, so I’m really happy with the turn out.”
Melanie was almost cut from the competition at one stage, but then Simon, her mentor during the show, had a change of heart and personally asked her to return.
She beat out runner up Josh Krajcik, but says fame was never her dream.
“Just to be able to have my music out there was really my dream, to be honest,” Melanie explained. “If the world could hear my music, that’s my dream.”
Well they certainly will now!
