Singer Amy Winehouse in concert at The Mod Club Theatre in Toronto on Saturday 12 May 2007. Amy was just starting to promote her new album ‘Back to Black’ which was generating immense critical acclaim. While on a small eight city club tour, she stopped for two shows in Toronto, and also made an appearance at MuchMusic. Her father, Mitchell Winehouse and then boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil also made a special appearance. In fact there are several photos in this set where she looks for her father and boyfriend in the crowd between songs. Also Jenny Eliscu, a reporter for Rolling Stone profiled her throughout the tour, which covered issue #1028, on June 14, 2007. Patrick Wolf opened and Amy Winehouse was backed by The Dap-Kings who usually tour with Sharon Jones. Throughout europe and the UK Amy toured with a different band and it was only these few club dates that The Dap-Kings toured with Amy. This is important because it is The Dap-Kings who appear in the ‘Back to Black’ recordings. Due to the immense popularity, the promoter decided to cancel the original march 2007 tour date, and added a second date and expanded the tour stops. Original face value of the ticket was $30 whilst ticket scalpers were charging $250-$300 on the street.
