We haven’t heard from rocker John Mayer lately and know
we know why.

The Grammy winning performer has been recovering from
throat surgery that he underwent earlier this week.

According to his blog, an inflamed growth known as a
granuloma was removed from just above his vocal cord. 

Mayer who announced the diagnosis in September, also
wrote that it had been a very long process in waiting to see if time could be
an alternative to surgery, but that there was no change for the better.

Last month he was forced to cancel performances with Tony
Bennet in Los Angeles, and at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.
