Sex And The City star Kim Cattrall has said she is “totally insecure” and not like her onscreen character at all.

The 53-year-old plays man-eater Samantha in the hit show and said there are very few similarities between them.

She said to UK magazine You: “I could not go into a bar and pick up a man – that is so foreign to me it’s not even in my hemisphere. I am totally insecure. That is predatory behaviour and I don’t consider myself a predator. In fact, I feel sometimes that I am the pursued.”

Cattrall recently split with her toyboy lover Alan Wyse and she said she is still adjusting to being single again.

She said: “It’s very hard to be private about that. Whenever you step out for a drink or dinner, whoever you’re with becomes your latest beau. Which is a bit of a laugh for my gay friends.”
