Last night New York City came alive with a strange and wonderful scene of elaborately dressed celebrities, in what could be hailed as the biggest bash to date this year. Gowns, jewels and tailored suits arrived in their droves to help the Metropolitan Museum celebrate it's Gala Benefit Salute The Power Of Superhereos and Fantasy Imagery In Fashion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art

Predictably Victoria and David Beckham proved to be the most popular couple on the red carpet, as their chiseled cheek bones easily over shadowed Jennifer Lopez's new mummy tummy and Scarlet Johansson's chubby right finger (she's engaged if you haven't heard).

Worryingly Victoria looked more vacant on the red carpet than usual and her comedy trout pout was replaced by a harsher smackering of Cruella De Vil red lipstick. Perhaps Posh was taking her fantasy character too far?

They never really announced that they were a couple and this is the only picture I can find of them together but Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are engaged according to OK! Magazine.

So far no wedding date has been set, and sources close to the couple tell OK! not to worry about marking the calendar anytime in the near future.

"Scarlett doesn't want to get married anytime soon," says the insider. "So expect it to be a long engagement."

According to the source, the Lost in Translation star's reluctance to walk down the aisle had been a source of tension between the couple, so they came up with a compromise -- "Get engaged now, and worry about the wedding down the road," explains the pal.

Even though Scarlett is "reluctant" to walk down the aisle, that 0% chance Scarlett would leave the muscled arms of Ryan for your basement is still that, 0.
