Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have been looking like the perfect family unit of late. Yesterday we saw the couple empty a local children's toy store, leaving with bags full of presents for lucky Harlow, and today we snapped the showbiz duo as they took a stroll in their local neighborhood. Sadly Harlow was out of sight, as she was too busy being cozy in his push chair, but both mom and dad looked super chilled with their coffees.

With blonde tousled hair, the troubled pop star bounced from her regular workout at Bally's Gym in a cute pink and blue outfit.Everyone noted that her sunny disposition may be due to the fact that yesterday a court awarded her more liberal visitation rights with her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

The worldly partners are understood to have been looking for a European home for the last two years, including a helicopter ride in 2006 to scope out potential properties around Cannes and St Tropez, but with family and film commitments they have yet to find the right place. Now the movie stars are now back in France, where they are expected to stay for the birth of their second biological child, it's believed they have began house-hunting again, this time stretching their thoughts to Italy. 

If the Mr. and Mrs. Smith stars do snap up an Italian castle for themselves and their children, they had better not expect Clooney to babysit. The Leatherheads star recently revealed that spending time with the couple and their kids made him nervous, and was "definitely not a candidate for father of the year."
