Britney Spears may have had a relaxing holiday away with film legend Mel Gibson in Costa Rica, but that doesn't mean the cogs of the courts haven't been turning in her absence. As the pop wreck headed out last night for a bite to eat in Los Angeles, it's been revealed that Brit has been ordered to pay her dad a further $10,000 for looking after her.
Private chef Jamie Spears has been forced to give up his job while he devotes himself to helping his troubled daughter get her life back on track. An LA court has approved his application for compensation of $2,500 (USD) a week for loss of earnings during a month-long period earlier this year.
The court papers say: "As a result of the responsibilities Mr Spears has assumed as Temporary Conservator of the Person and Temporary Co-Conservator of the Estate, he has been unable to continue his prior employment and thus no longer has the source of income he previously had in order to pay his expenses and bills.
Britney has turned her life around since Jamie's intervention. Her progress has impressed the judge in her child custody battle so much he recently granted her more time with her two sons.

Argentine footballer Carlos Tevez arriving at Manchester Airport with the rest of the Manchester United team yesterday, to fly to Moscow, where they will face Chelsea in the final of the 2008 UEFA Champions League later today. Manchester United will be hoping to add to the Premier League trophy they have already won this season.
It has often been said that Manchester United fans are glory-hounds who only follow the team because they win a lot of silver. When asked, a group of their greatest fans: Juan, Youssef, Thaksin and Zhuang all stated that this was untrue and where exactly was Manchester again please? Near London right?
It is believed the reddest thing in Moscow on Wednesday will be Alex Ferguson's face.

Singer R. Kelly's child pornography trial finally got underway today, six years after he was charged. And jurors heard a mole on the star's back will prove his innocence.
Defence lawyer Sam Adam Jr insisted the R&B superstar is not the man in the tape engaged in sex acts, with a girl prosecutors say was as young as 13. In his opening statement, Adam said Kelly has a mole in the middle of his lower back which will prove the man in the video is not him.
He said that when the tape is shown it will be clear the man in it does not have such a mole.
The lawyer also claimed the woman on the tape is not the alleged victim but a prostitute, who is paid at the beginning. The defence claim the 23-year-old woman, prosecutors say was a minor at the time of the taping, is not in the video at all.
She also denies she is the girl in the graphic footage. Adam shed doubts on the origins of the tape, telling jurors it was not an original but a "copy of a copy of a copy."
The court heard the tape was not found at Kelly's home but delivered to a local newspaper reporter.
But assistant Cook County state's attorney Shauna Boliker maintained the man on the tape is Kelly.
She said: "This case is about child pornography that was created, staged, produced and starred in by the defendant that sits before you, Robert Kelly." Kelly has pleaded not guilty but faces up to 15 years behind bars if convicted.
The trial continues.
