Ashlee Simpson has shown off the engagement ring given to her by her rocker boyfriend and admitted, "he did a fantastic job." The singer, who announced her engagement to Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz last month, said she was shocked by how much attention they have had since they made the news public. Speaking on The Paul O'Grady Show, she said: 

"It's been a bit shocking for us, we're just trying to ignore everybody and enjoy our engagement but he did a great job. Yeah, he did a fantastic job. It's pretty exciting." 

She then flashed her bling ring before singing Pete's praises about his help with recording her new album. Adding,

"He likes it, he's such a great supporter to me. When I was making the record he'll come in and listen, he'll put his input in or say I like this or not that and sometimes I'll take it and sometimes I'm like 'uh-uh, i like that'. He's great, he's very supportive."
