Brad and Angelina Give Back
8:09 Friday, March 21, 2008
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have demonstrated their great philanthropy without much fanfare-- but their U.S. federal taxes tell the truth on how much they've been giving back. This couple donated more than 8 million dollars to the Jolie Pitt Foundation just in 2006, with Pitt giving $4,402,317 away and Jolie donating $4,123,613, FoxNews.com has reported.
After the two donated their $8 million, $2,367,935 of it was donated to special causes, with $1 million apiece going to "Doctors Without Borders (International Division)" and "Global AIDS Alliance," along with $137,935 given to the Namibia Red Cross Action Program, and $100,000 to the Daniel Pearl Foundation, Global Green USA, and the Epidermolysis Bulloma Medical Research Foundation. An art park in LA also received $20,000 and $5,000 to two orphanages of Angelina's choice.
As if I wasn't already super-impressed already, the Foundation also managed to limit their costs to $27,000.

Morgan Freeman, told PEOPLE Magazine Thursday at the Pathfinders to Peace Forum and Gala, “We were in contact with Brad about the situation in New Orleans†– and he called Jolie “such a wonderful woman.â€

The royal family.
I have not read the other posts. Now lets do the math here. How much did they both make between them in movies? let's say at least...80 million, maybe I am lowballing that amount. The donations add up to a low percentage of that, all of which are tax write offs. Is it not the responsibility of these celebs to donate some of their outrages wealth to charity...so in the end...they gave maybe 2% of their earnings...it's as average as any of us that donate from our earnings...going by dollar cost average.
Sure they are commendable...but I wonder if they keep it quiet because they too know how low a percentage their donation is...and that it is a tax write off.
What would Jesus say>?
THIS IS A TAX SHELTER! THAT'S IT. And why on earth would Jolie & Shitt release tax return information? They are such MEDIA WHORES!
they are so commendable...love them
i am a fan of anyone, celeb or not, doing their best to save lives...
kudos to the jolie/pitt's.
This was two years ago and we have
heard about it over and over. Maybe
if we all start writing to them, they
will go from town to town and help some
of the people that are losing their
houses, that can't afford to keep them
up, sick children that have no ins.,
63,000 are unemployed and houses are
being repossessed by the hundreds so
I am sure that there a lot of people
to help. Those people aren't giving
because they can't. It doesn't mean
they don't want to. Lots of retired
people don't make enough to live on
anymore because of inflation. That's
what Oprah and Home Edition are doing
and I think it wonderful. Both have
been to our state.
