Kanye Tries To "Run" The Grammy's

"Come on? You're going to play music on me?" "Just to say something about my mother. I appreciate all the support and all the prayers . . . . It would be in good music to stop the music."When the background music stopped the crowd cheered as Kanye paid an emotional tribute to mother Donda West, who died late last year following complications after plastic surgery. Kanye went on:
"I know you are really proud of me right now and I know you wouldn't want me to stop. You want me to be the number one artist in the world and mama, all I'm going to do is keep making you proud. We run this."Earlier in the televised show, West performed 'Stronger' wearing a jacket with flashing LED lights and was joined on stage by French techno group Daft Punk. Later Kanye's voice than cracked with emotion as he performed the song 'Hey Mamma' from his earlier album 'Late Registration.' Pictures by Splash News / Kevin Reece

I thought he "rapping" was terrible, but his tribute to his mother was very moving.
As far as his acceptance speech went, the dude's a total drama queen. Hopefully next time he'll show some restraint and realize that less can be more.
I thought it was hillarious how the Grammy's started playing this canned rock band in the background while he threw a hissy fit.
Let the music do the talking, Kanye. Sheesh!
Agree Doug;
his raps sucked....but when he starting singing the song about his mother...I couldn't help but cry.
I typically can't stand Kanye: but last night, I really felt for him...If he just quits complaining about every little thing and isn't such a cocky asshole anymore I would be able to listen to his music more often...
Who knows: Maybe he will be able to learn and grow from this tragedy.
