Ellen Page has spoken out against celebrities and starlets her age who "get into drugs." The actress also said that she feels true "compassion" for celebrities who take a turn off the rails.
"I feel really bad for those individuals and a lot of compassion," Page said. "One of the big problems is, no one really says, 'Why is this happening?' And no one really offers that insight. They just get consistently judged for it." She continued by stating that it's not a new trend, but one that is more high-profile because of intense media scrutiny.
"People just like to pick away at other people, you know?," she said. "You have websites that are just devoted to finding a stain on an actor's pants. I would like anyone else who does that judging to be in that person's position and see what that feels like."
Page is pictured here on the Independent Spirit Awards' red carpet in her casual and slightly funky getup. I wouldn't mind getting her autograph, either, since this star more or less came out of nowhere and is now an Oscar favorite!

The Fade Awards in Belfast hosted a stream of celebs with one thing in common: a lot of cleavage, everywhere. I suppose it's my gift to you for the weekend! Caprice was looking devastating in a pink gown that really left little to the imagination, while Sophie Anderson surprised me with the back version of her gown, complete with tattoo.
It's a battle between Caprice's and Sophie's dresses down to
there. Tell me: who wore the dress that put that "
t" in "t & a"?

Friends and colleagues of Heath Ledger paid tribute to him at the Film Independent Spirit Awards this weekend after winning an award for one of his last films. The director and cast of "I'm Not There" dedicated the honor to Heath when they went onstage together to collect the Robert Altman Award, given to a director, casting director, and ensemble cast.
Cate Blanchett was one star who looked on as director Todd Haynes saluted Heath, who played Robbie Clark in the movie. He stated that:
"Honoring this amazing ensemble today is so bittersweet given how shattered we are by Heath's inconceivable absence. We all loved him so dearly. He really was unlike anybody I have ever known, giving of himself less like an actor than a creative partner on the film as a whole. Far beyond his startling depth and sensitivity on screen, Heath was already an astounding film-maker in his own right and the creator of some of the most exquisite and diverse music videos I have ever seen. I know our film, the way it was made, was very close to his own artistic sensibilities and ambitions."
Cate also dedicated her Best Supporting Female award to Heath, saying that he had "probably one of the most beautiful spirits of all," adding: "This is for him."
