The phrase "when it rains, it pours" couldn't have rang more true for troubled star Britney last night as she was taken from her home and escorted by ambulance to hospital on a wet frantic evening. Kevin Federline met Britney at the hospital along with one year old son Jayden James, who it's believed was also taken to the hospital in a second ambulance.
Reports suggest that neither Jayden or Britney were harmed physically and Britney's sons have since been returned home to their father in the early hours of this morning. Reports also suggest that Spears is actually being held on what is called a 'medical hold', also known as special needs watch (suicide watch). She will be watched around the clock for 72 hours so she can cause no harm to herself and the people visiting the star will be monitored.
Britney's father Jamie and her agent/friend Sam Lufti have since been to see the singer since her arrival at the hospital.

The moment Britney Spears was put into an ambulance and taken to a local hospital can now be seen on video. She is being evaluated after allegedly being under the influence of an unknown substance while refusing to return her children to ex husband Kevin Federline.

This is the moment singer Britney Spears was carried from her Los Angeles home on a stretcher (have included stock head shot in case you have forgotten how the troubled pop star looks). The 26-year-old was taken to hospital after a four-hour show down with police over the custody of her two children.
Police officers were called to her Beverly Hills home late last night after Spears refused to hand children Sean Preston and Jayden James back to ex-husband Kevin. When K-Fed's two bodyguards arrived to pick up the kids just before 8pm, she also refused to let them into the house.
Shortly after 10pm, Britney appeared to let police and paramedics inside the home. An ambulance then arrived and a wheelchair was seen being taken into the house amid reports someone was being treated inside before police confirmed she was being evaluated. By 11pm there were five police cars and the fire department with paramedics at the gated community with a police chopper hovering overhead.
Officials said no injuries had been reported but back up emergency vehicles were called two hours after the original call to police. It has been reported that Spears was found under the influence of an unknown substance and is being held in hospital pending a psychiatric evaluation. The children are thought to be back with Federline. LAPD spokesman Jason Lee said:
"Police were called to Britney Spears mansion this evening. She was refusing to hand the children over to their father as part of a court order. We were called and the situation is now what we call a Code 4 - which means everything is done. That means we verified the court document and the children are being returned to their father via representative. However we do believe Britney Spears is under the influence and needs to be evaluated. She is being transported to hospital where she will be tested for both drink and drugs.
At this stage we do not know what she may or may not have taken - that's while she needs to be evaluated. But obviously if the test does prove positive then we would be looking to move her to a police station and charge her. But again I cannot say if that will happen for sure until we get the evaluation test results."
Many believe that this final public meltdown will finally see Britney receiving the help she needs. Splash will keep you updated on Brit's progression.

Naomi Campbell made sure she puckered up for sunshine in Punta del Este, Uruguay, yesterday. We spied the model, usually noted for her fiery temper, relaxing with friends by a pool. Naomi is currently living at Giuseppe Cippriani's house and was seen sunbathing in a tiny red bikini with an unidentified man and friend at the Shakira Punta del Este Resort.

Hollywood hunk Jake Gyllenhaal has been spotted out in LA enjoying lunch with a mystery brunette. The Brokeback Mountain star was seen with the attractive lady at trendy Joan's On Third Café in West Hollywood. Gyllenhaal looked relaxed, in a cardigan and a pair of jeans, as he joked and laughed with the unknown woman.
Gyllenhaal, 27, is currently dating Oscar-winning beauty Reese Witherspoon, 31. The pair first denied they were an item - but went public with their relationship after being spotted enjoying a romantic weekend in Rome in October.
