Jailbird star Kiefer Sutherland has been praised as a model inmate. The locked-up '24' actor was reportedly on his best behaviour during his 48-days behind bars on a drink-driving charge. Sutherland, who has now been released, spent more than a month on laundry duty, cleaning sheets and blankets, according to U.S reports.
Sutherland was jailed after pleading no contest in October 2007 to drink driving in Los Angeles. The star was given a 30-day jail sentence, as well as a further 18-days for violating his probation from a 2004 drink-driving arrest. "He was very humble, never complained. He didn't give us any problems at all", policeman John Balian said.

Looks like life for Matthew McConaughey is ticking along as usual. The star, who has just announced that his girlfriend Camila Alves is pregnant, was spotted over the weekend relaxing at his trailer in Malibu.
Earlier in the day Camila happily smiled for the waiting cameras as she shopped for flowers and ice at Ralph's Supermarket. In a pretty white dress, the models baby bump was clearly visible. Matthew had stayed behind to attend to some cooking, as the couple had invited friends over for drinks and to watch the football.

A wrinkly looking Mel Gibson tossed a coin for the first Hollywood ashes cricket match between Australia and massive rivals England yesterday. During a pleasent afternoon Gibson could be seen cavorting with some female company over lunch while hardened Aussie beer swillers had him reaching for the water. On leaving Mel had a dvd set of Stanley Kramer films and the book 'Say It Out Loud' about Heath Ledger's gay cowboy mate Adam Sutton tucked under his arm.

Just in case the iPhone is not expensive enough for you already, here is the world's first diamond and gold case for the mobile/cell phone, and it will set you back a cool $20,000. The product is studded with 42 diamonds set in 18-carat gold and leather. A spokesman for the US manufacturer, Case Mate, said: "It's the most luxurious iPhone case on the market." A limited number of the cases have been made, so Hollywood stars had better hurry.

It was lovely to see couple Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart attend the Australia Week 2008 Black Tie Gala in Hollywood last night. The duo often shy away from media attention, so it was a highlight to see the pair still looking in love and happy. Calista in particular looked very well, and chose a fantastic floor length turquoise blue dress, complimented with silver beading and a small silver clutch bag.
They should hit the red carpet more often.

Kylie Minoque looked like a goddess as she graced the red carpet at 'Australia's Week 2008 Black Tie Gala'. The singer, who was honored at last nights event, cheekily revealed a bit of leg while the rest of her curvy frame remained wrapped up in purple and gold fabric.
The prestigious event brings together "a variety of prominent film and business executives, senior Australian officials, American film and television industry representatives, producers, directors, actors and many American-based Australian actors". Making an "exciting program of events – showcasing the very best of Australian culture, fashion, food, wine, tourism and business."
