Troubled pop star Amy Winehouse has finally taken a step in the right direction and checked into a rehab facilitiy according to a statement released by her record label, Universal Music Group.

Amy decided to enter the facility today after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors. She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction.

I seriously doubt Amy knows where she is half the time let a lone make a life altering decision like entering rehab. I think when you're caught on video smoking crack following months of bizarre behavior (running around London in her bra, attacking photographers, stealing magazines, and slurring her way through performances) she was pressured into getting help or lose her record deal. Useless Trivia: Do you know what Amy and Britney Spears have in common besides being train wreck pop stars? They both share a love of public toilets.
