Big day for R&B singer Brandy and her family. The Los Angeles City's Attorney office says she will not be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter stemming from her December 2006 car crash that killed 38-year-old Awatef Aboudihaj.

Spokesman Nick Velasquez said there is "insufficient evidence" for a jury to find the 28-year-old actress-singer guilty of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter beyond a reasonable doubt. The decision runs counter to a recommendation from the California Highway Patrol that Brandy, whose real name is Brandy Norwood, be charged in the Dec. 30, 2006, crash.

We spotted the couple back home in New Orleans, Louisiana shopping at baby store 'Pippen Lane' with their ever present bodyguards. In other Jolie News, Angelina was named top celebrity do-gooder in a newly released Reuters poll. She beat out Bono, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Microsoft founder Bill Gates for the top spot due to her work with as a United Nations goodwill ambassador and for raising awareness about the suffering Africa. Former major league baseball player and catcher for the New York Yankees (along with the Anaheim Angels, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres, and the Los Angeles Dodgers) was arrested and charged for driving under the influence and vehicular homicide. Leyritz crashed his car into another car at around 3:30 a.m. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this morning. The driver of the other car was ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced dead. Leyritz is most famous for his home run against the Atlanta Braves in Game 4 of the 1996 World Series and for admitting he used amphetamines on the Opie & Anthony XM Radio show.
