Cate's beautiful and a great actress but she's as vacuous and as totally unaware of the world around her as the rest of these show-biz types. She goes on about being "green" but now she brings yet another consumer into a world that is rapidly running out of anything. Her own homeland will be uninhabitable by people by the end of this century and she has chosen to hasten the end in her own small way. Custom/religion/selfishness trumps logic/common sense every time, doesn't it?
Just "throw another shrimp on the barbie" ;-)
She could bring a new meaning to "Walk like a man." Yeow!
“throw another shrimp on the barbie†that reminds me of "Just One Blondeepfried Moment, Here!" http://www.spymac.com/details/?2312013
oh please with the bringing-another- consumer-into-the-world crap. with thousands of abortions each day in this world, natural deaths, suicides, etc. there is plenty of fucking room to live here
also, there are plenty of ways to reduce our consumption. she can buy biodegradable disposable diapers or use cloth, for one. she can make her own baby food, buy organic clothes, etc. how rude to tell a woman she can't have a child b/c she is green!!
chantal: Your comments illustrate that you haven't been paying attention either. For one thing, did you know that Cate already has two children? Is that not a sufficiently large "footprint" to leave behind? Another thing, yes there is "plenty of room" but you wouldn't want to live in those places. You know why? There's no water there. By the way, in no way do abortions, natural deaths, suicides, (you forgot wars), offset the worldwide birth rate. We're running out of everything, that's a fact. We need a century or maybe more of one-child-per-woman the world over to get the population down to a sustainable level. It doesn't help when these eco-celebrities like Cate and Robert Kennedy say one thing and do another.
