Splash News has launched a Splash branded 'Paparazzi' celebrity online program for Microsoft’s MSN websites in the
UK,
Holland,
Germany,
Italy and
Canada.
Using the celebrity agency's huge picture and video archive as well as the daily news feed, the British-owned agency is shooting and editing 3 x 3 minute Hollywood wrap ups that play daily on MSN. It is the first time a celebrity news agency has been able to brand itself into a direct to consumer video program.
A dedicated team are producing the show, translating the scripts and doing voiceovers in English, Dutch, German and Italian. The show is an edgy and irreverent look at Hollywood news designed to attract the younger internet demographic. The video and pictures used are straight from the streets with an informative but provocative voiceover.
"We are very proud to partner with Microsoft on this project," said Splash CEO Gary Morgan. "There is a severe lack of edgy Hollywood magazine shows on any of the media platforms. This show is designed to catch the attention of the key youth demographic on the web and is a huge departure from the traditional 'soft' entertainment shows such as Entertainment Tonight, Extra, Access Hollywood." "The shows are tailor made for MSN online use but can be used in any format. As far as we know there is no other paparazzi style show out there."
John Mangelaars, vice president, Microsoft Online Services Group, Europe, Middle East and Africa said:
“MSN is all about delivering great online content – particularly entertainment. Video is an increasingly important part of this experience,†“We are seeing new media habits form around online video and this is being driven by compelling content that people can ‘snack’ on – such as the paparazzi celebrity program from Splash.â€
Morgan added: “Splash is the first celebrity photo agency to be able to make its own branded programming and this project is spearheading our drive to tap into the direct to consumer market. We don't have to just sell material to a magazine for them to get the readers. We can now go direct to the audience and experiment with ad revenue streams."
Splash already has a successful blogsite - SplashNewsOnline.com - which was the first consumer facing site for the agency. Splash News has moved quickly to build the largest celebrity video website in the world to prepare for the huge demand of online video clients and recently landed a coup by licensing a massive one-of-a-kind moving footage archive. Splash now has exclusive rights to distribute and store video footage from 4000 video tape strong Kaplan Video, one of the oldest outfits of its kind. Splash generates between 20 and 60 video clips a day and the Splash video archive contains 10,000 video clips and over 1000 photos a day.
The shows can be seen on the following URLs -

Splash Celeb Cam Germany

Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and her fiance Chris Ivery pulled a fast one on Friday, getting married in a secret ceremony held at New York's City Hall. These pictures were taken on Sunday, two days after the couple were wed and Ellen did her best to hide her wedding ring.
The pair — who got engaged a year ago — wed Friday at 11:30 a.m. in a brief ceremony at New York's City Hall, where Mayor Michael Bloomberg — a Massachusetts native like Pompeo, 38 — served as their witness, a Bloomberg rep tells Usmagazine.com.
I really hope this is becoming a Hollywood trend. I am so tired of getting woken up at 3AM on a Sunday morning or the weeks that go into planning a stakeout of some huge celebrity wedding.
Please, pull a Matt Damon and go to the court house, I can really use the sleep.

If you didn't need actual physical proof (instead of the usual photographic kind) of Brand Davis' actual greasiness, today's
Page Six has the oily goodness.
EVEN professional hairstylists won't touch Brandon Davis' hair. When "Greasy Bear" paid a visit late Saturday to the Frederic Fekkai Salon for a trim, stylists were so appalled by his oily grunginess they donned rubber gloves. "Even the shampoo person wore gloves," said a source. "He [Davis] was really out of it, sweating profusely. His eyes were half shut and he was asking for carrot juice, even after they told him they only had orange juice."
I don't know what's worse, that Brandon Davis actually is a sweaty mess or he that he pays for his hair to look like this?
You decide while I try not to throw up.

After a 'paptastic' time at the Ivy, Lindsay Lohan then dragged her tin foil a** over to Chanel in Beverly Hills to engaging in some retail therapy. She once again had great fun in whipping out her toy camera, so she could feel a part of the gang! Say cheese everyone!

Lindsay Lohan looked like she was ready to be barbecued (if only dreams came true) as she step out in what looked like a tin foil dress at the Ivy. Either that, or she is planning a trip to mars. As Lindsay left the restaurant after lunch she found herself, surprise surprise, attracting a lot of attention from fellow patrons, onlookers and the photographers waiting to snap her.

Kate Bosworths' smile couldn't have been any bigger as she arrived and left The XChange for the Vacheron Constantin Platinum Excellence event honoring Clive Davis (the platinum selling record producer and executive of BMG). In a pretty frock and black boots, Kate looked very well as she attended the event with her (annoyingly fit) boyfriend James Rousseau. The pair couldn't stop giggling as they left in their cars.
