Proud parents Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been dealt a stunning blow after the birth mother of their daughter Zahara says she wants her back in Ethiopia. Mentewab Dawit Lebiso says Zahara was conceived when she was raped by a stranger and after becoming overwhelmed after the birth on 7 January 2005, she ran away. Resulting in her mother then signing the baby over for adoption. They insist that another man then told the adoption agency that the mum was dead. Wide Horizons for Children claims it told Angelina that Zahara's mother was dead because the documents that her grandmother, Almaz Elfneh, and three witnesses signed said so.

"We have to trust the documents we received from the local government," says the agency's Ethiopian head, Dr. Tsegaye Berhe. "She's signed a document saying, 'My daughter had died and she left the child behind".

After speaking to the adoption agency, family members thought Angelina and Brad would bring Zahara back for a visit - but it has never happened. Angelina, an insider says, has heard the published tales of Zahara's African family, but feels on a deeper level that Zahara is part of her family.

"She believes that Zahara is an orphan and the woman who claims to be her mum is mistaken," says a friend. , says the pal, and "Angie had no reason to believe otherwise. Zahara was days away from death and Angelina saved that child. As far as she is concerned, that bonded her to that little girl forever."

Government papers said Zahara was an AIDS orphan, but the birth mother Mentewab never signed the papers giving up her daughter, which could give her a case for getting Zahara back.

Amy Winehouse looked tired and drained as she left her East End flat in London for her concert in Birmingham. On route she squeezed a quick visit to her hubby Blake Fielder-Civil in jail, before shooting off to the gig. Amy, who wore a equally somber black dress, was joined by her dad and manager. She also made sure she entered through the back of the prison to try and avoid the waiting press. Blake is currently on a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice, after being accused of trying to persuade a man he allegedly assaulted to withdraw from giving evidence during his trial, which was due to start Monday. And now she is showing the world she really can do anything she wants by launching 'Can Can'. Business savvy Paris Hilton posed at Macy`s in Garden City NYC as she unveiled her new fragrance. In a pretty pink frock and pearls, she looked awkward with her big feet, but I am sure she was just busy counting her fortune in her head. Parlux Fragrances have described her as “a marketers’ dream” and estimated that by signing her up to endorse a perfume range they tripled the company’s value, and have since decided Paris Hilton will launch a new watch range through Parlux International as well. So even more spare change heading her way.

Vanessa Minnillo was spotting at Lisa Kline for Kids on Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills, purchasing some children's clothes. Before everyone jumps to conclusions, she could be shopping for Nicole Richie, Christina Aguilera, Halle Berry, or Jennifer Garner (I swear she's pregnant).
