Tom Cruise and Robert Redford posed away for Lions for Lambs photocall yesterday in Berlin, and I have to say that I was as impressed with Redford's general coolness (even in the worst jeans ever) as I was unimpressed with Tom Cruise's facial expression in some of these pics. I know it's probably just me, but does anyone see a particular "sneeriness" going on? Do tell.

I haven't seen Renee Zellweger around forever, but Splash caught up with her visiting The Today Show in New York City today looking like the star she is. Police dramatically shot dead a man they feared could be setting the Californian wildfires. Officials are certain at least two of the main fires devastating California and leaving more than a million out of their homes were started deliberately. And it was those fears that led officers to gun down a man who was acting "suspiciously" in an evacuated area. San Bernardino university police tried to detain the man - who is 27 but yet to be identified - as he was in an otherwise empty area. It sparked a crazy chase - and police opened fire after the suspect started ramming a police car. "We don't know whether he was an arsonist," said Lt. Scott Patterson of the San Bernardino Police Department. "What was related by the Cal State police was that they tried to contact him as a suspicious person in a brush area. "Things being how they are, there was a suspicion that he could be an arsonist." The area near the campus had been devastated by a massive fire in 2003. "It's very fire-prone," Patterson said. "It's an area that would be very devastated if a fire were to start there." Meanwhile another man had been arrested for allegedly setting another fire. Sheriff's officials say John Alfred Rund, 48, of Hesperia had just started a fire along the scrubby road. He was arrested after a helicopter using infrared equipment spotted him driving his motorcycle away from the scene. I'm quite the fan of Diane Kruger. She always looks amazingly turned out, and hasn't bagged herself a bad boyfriend either. Splash caught up with the star last night, as she took to the red carpet at the Mango Ten Years Together fashion party in Berlin, Germany. If I wore dresses, I'd be hunting that pink one down!
