Helen Mirren and her hit show Prime Suspect lead the way for Britain at the Emmy's last night, winning best actress award in a mini series or movie. Funnyman Ricky Gervais brought home another big win, getting best Actor in a comedy series for The Office. Gervais wasn't at the awards show, so as a joke it was collected by Steve Carrel - the man who takes Gervais' place in the American version of The Office.
It wouldn't be an awards ceremony without tears, and this year Grey's Anatomy actress and Katherine Heigl provided them as she won two awards. She also provided unexpected humour as she said: "My own mother told me I didn't have a shot in hell of winning tonight so I don't really have anything prepared." As that provided laughter, she quickly added: "But she's a really big supporter. She does love me."
America Ferrera of Ugly Betty almost came to tears too when she talked about her "dreams coming true" in getting best actress in a comedy series. There was also emotion from Jeremy Piven who won an Emmy for the second year running. "Last year, I impaled myself kissing this up to my father, and I'm gonna do it again, because I love him and I miss him and I do it for him," he said.
Thomas Haden Church, won best supporting actor in "Broken Trail', had a different view on the awards meaning. "This is probably going to be my daughter's favorite toy when we get home, next to SpongeBob. Product placement." The Sopranos won the Emmy for best drama series in its final season. The NBC special “Tony Bennett: An American Classic†took three awards, including a performance Emmy for Mr. Bennett.
Sally Field provided the most controversial speech and sent a ripple of panic through the Fox network for her antiwar statements, and said that her character on “Brothers & Sisters†was a mother with a son headed for combat in Iraq and if mothers ruled the world there would be no wars.

How can I put this politely? I never knew how 'athletic' Eva Longoria's figure was. I knew she didn't have much up top but after looking at pictures of Christina Aguilera I guess I noticed it a lot more. But still, iron board figures aside she looked stunning. She shimmered her way on the red carpet of the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and posed solo, without her new hubby Tony Parker.

Christina Aguilera has yet to confirm her pregnancy to the public or her fans and as a result she has had every body second guessing them selves over the past few weeks. It has been hard to tell if her belly has been expanding or not, and her choice of outfits at the Emmy Awards last night has only made the decision harder.
She arrived on the red carpet in a white silk gown. The tight fabric clung to her every curve and certainly showed off all her womanly spectaculars. It appeared she planned to get everyones eyes on her cleavage and not much else. Later during the Awards she appeared onstage with legendary singer Tony Bennett. In a change of outfit, she wowed the audience with a sexy pink dress. This one though hung no where near her stomach as it floated over her midsection, making it almost impossible to see if there was a bump or not.

I can't quite decide whether Hayden Panettiere's dress is winning my vote? On first glance she looks stunning, very lady like and demure, but then with a second glance you think 'where is she under all that fabric'. What do you think?
