Update: I should have known better than to trust the source. Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's current status of shared custody (50/50) has not been changed in altered in anyway. Britney did not lose temporary custody of her children. It's being reported that Britney Spears has lost custody of her two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James but it is only temporary.

Britney Spears will temporarily lose custody of her two toddler sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline, sources told FOXNews.com ahead of the official ruling expected later Monday. Commissioner Scott Gordon will order the boys, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James, turned over to Federline based on information that Los Angeles Family Court received over the weekend about Spears, the sources told FOXNews.com.

This is so sad and has the potential to send Britney further down the spiral. I bet she's heartbroken.

The former bodyguard of Britney Spears, Tony Barretto, last week submitted a declaration to the Los Angeles court regarding Britney's alleged drug use and nudity around her two children Sean Preston and Jayden James. Barretto appeared in court today to issue a sworn statement and face cross-examination but shockingly neither Britney or her lawyers challenged the document.

"We appeared with our client this morning who was prepared to testify and be cross examined under oath on his declaration which was filed with the court and was received as evidence in this case. We are shocked that Miss Spears attorneys chose not to cross examine our client as to the substance of his declaration. Our client was prepared to testify on issues of nudity by Miss Spears, drug use and safety issues involving the children post rehab." Since neither the court nor Miss Spears attorneys chose to examine our client in the witness stand regarding the particulars of his highly explosive and relevant declaration it stands unrefuted and unchallenged. We would hope that the court would make interim orders that protect the children."

By not refuting Barretto's declaration, Britney's attorneys pretty much handed primary custody to K-Fed. How can the state allow the kids to remain with Britney if there is now documented evidence that she is not a suitable parent?

Access Hollywood is reporting that the LAPD is not investigating an alleged hit on Kevin Federline:

“We do not have any current investigation regarding an alleged hit on Kevin Federline,” the rep told Access.

Thank god for that! K-Fed can now sleep soundly that there is one less person out there who wants him dead.
