Mel B says that her "heart dropped down to" her "gut" when Eddie Murphy demanded a DNA test to prove he fathered their beautiful daughter. She says: "I went to London and on my return flight I learned that he made that announcement about wanting a DNA test on that TV show. Then I saw him on the red carpet with Tracey Edmonds and that's when I knew we were over." Brown, 32, told respected US magazine Essence her immediate reaction was disbelief because when she left the US, the couple were planning to buy a house together. She says: "I laughed because that wasn't the guy that I knew who told me he wanted to have a baby and get married. I just didn't believe it. I had my lawyer send me the link for the clip of that Dutch TV show. "When I saw it my heart dropped to my gut. Obviously, there was something within him that I didn't know. Then I thought, if that's the kind of person that he truly is, then I'm better off by myself. It was awful because I was pregnant." According to Mel B, she called him when she first heard the news and saw the Dutch TV clip. "We had a really brief conversation," she says, "and it was something along the lines of: 'I'll call you back' and he never did." She also claims the actor did not return her calls when she told his assistant she was going into labour. "I asked to please let him know and she responded: 'He knows'. And still, nothing; not even a 'hello' to the baby; not even a nappy or flowers bought". It's been three months but Brown claims that Murphy still hasn't called to ask about his child. Mel says: "He was the one who said that he wanted the test but it when it came down to it I had to force him to take it because he went into complete denial and wouldn't even show up for a meeting about it.
