There is probably a reason for the amount, esp since he is in small claims court. Furthermore, there are probably relaxed statutes of limitations in SCCt than in 'normal' court. Ah, the American Judicial System.

The reason why it took him so long to file with small claims court is because he tried contacting Linds first by sending her a letter, asking her to just pay the repair bill. But of course, she blew it off. The guy was kind enough to give her a chance to make restitution without having to take her to court and true to form, Linds shirked responsibility.

But of course, let's put it all on the victim... /eyeroll
