After joking about an inside source's claim that there were four sure fire hits on Britney Spears comeback album comes news today from her publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnick, who gave a statement to Life & Style Weekly, that the release date has been pushed back.

“I put her on hiatus,” Zelnik says. “Brit’s album is pushed until ’08. If she has no album, there’s no reason to do anything. I’m representing her in theory right now. I said that since the album is pushed back until ’08, let’s go on hiatus until we have a campaign to do.” A music-industry insider says the album is delayed because Britney’s struggling creatively. "I'm surprised the album wasn't pushed back to ’09 — everything's up in the air with the album right now," the insider says. "Jive [Records, Brit's label] hated the songs Britney was coming up with, except for a few. The executives are not happy. And she didn't want to listen to anyone. Everything was a problem for her. They wanted her to work with certain people, and she wanted the opposite."

Paris Hilton continues to cash in on her jail time. The society girl has scooped a $300,000 magazine deal to the $1m she has secured for her first post prison TV interview. Hilton will give America's People magazine her first print interview after she regains her freedom, which could come as early as this weekend. Earlier this week it was reported that Hilton had accepted $1m to sit down with Meredith Vieira on NBC's Today Show. Her Today Show deal alone means Hilton will have earned $43,578 a day for her three weeks inside California's Century Regional Detention Center and the Twin Towers prison. "It's a fascinating story and we're thrilled to have it," said People managing editor Larry Hackett. Paris had been all set to give her first TV interview to family friend and ABC star Barbara Walters, according to reports. But she changed her mind at the last minute after NBC boss Jeff Zucker rang her dad Rick Hilton. Walters is said to be 'incandescent with rage', according to the New York Post.

Yesterday the Enquirer claimed Britney told her Mum she had to get Kevin Federline to love her again or she was out of her life forever, and it now if reports are true Britney want to keep Grandma away from Jayden and Sean! What is going on? Spears has always been upset that her Mother put her in rehab and then took Kevin's side in his bid to win custody of their children. They met on the 10th June to try and sort their differences, but has it worked? X17's source says Britney feels the situation is serious enough to file a restraining order against her own mother to keep her mom away from her two sons.
