I'm not exactly in the 'Ugly Betty' target demographic; I'm male, straight, listen to really bad death metal, and spend most of my free time in the corner of several local dive bars but for some reason I really enjoy the show. For some reason I am totally captivated by America Ferrara, she's adorable. Oh and show has an amazingly hot Salma Hayek who gets better looking every year. Maybe that's why I am watching. An absolutely stunning Jewel turned up for the premiere of 'Arthur and the Invisibles' in New York last night probably as a favor to the Country Music Television channel (have to get photographed to be in the news) as she is hosting their version of American Idol called 'Nashville Star.' This is Jewel's first stab at reality TV but according to the New York Daily News, she was offered a gig on one of the first season's of MTV's 'The Real World.'

'The Real World' was just starting when I was coming up and they asked me to be on that,' the singer said, 'and I didn't want to be known as the girl from 'The Real World.'

I agree with Jewel on this one. Starring in a reality show is the death knell if you career is going to involve anything other than being a reality star. But who knows, she could have written songs with Heather B., gotten drunk and naked on TV for the world to see and duked it out for a few shekels on those Real World/Road Rules challenge shows.
