The parents of the woman that died in a freeway crash involving Brandy is suing the R&B singer for $50 million. The wrongful death suit states that Brandy was driving recklessly when her Land Rover smashed into the Honda Accord driven by 38-year-old Awatef Aboudihaj "The accident was a terrible tragedy, and Brandy's heart goes out to Awatef Aboudihaj's family," spokesman Allan Mayer said in a statement. "But for legal reasons we cannot comment on this lawsuit." If she wasn't Brandy, would the family be suing for $50 million? This accident is a terrible tragedy but just because she's a celebrity, does that make your life worth more? Is that what the world has come to? Gravy-training the death of your daughter? Even if the DA does charge Brandy, the greatest punishment she might face is a year in prison. (Which, in all likelihood, will never happen.)

This being the case, were her carelessness to have resulted in the death of my own daughter, I would most certainly attempt to seek redress by any means available to me.

But does that give you the right to demand $50M for your loss? If Brandy wasnt Brandy (not that I think she has $50m - if she did she gave it to the Scientologists) then they wouldnt be asking for such a high sum.

In any situation like this when something happens and you are owed compensation you get all that you can get.Nothing can replace a life but when your wrong your wrong. If 50 mill is what they want then hey but anyway its up to the judge..

50 million is ridiculous. They are taking advantage and using the death of a loved one to get rich. Yes they should get some restitution but 50 million is a joke. That is taking advantage!

Yeah, I think this will be settled out of court and it won't be anywhere near 50, but it will be in the millions.

I think brandy is truely sorry and wants to help in some way. As far as criminal charges, I don't think it will fly at all. It was an accident. She wasn't driving recklessly and was obeying the law driving wise. She, like millions of us who drive, made a mistake while driving.

It was an accident they happen everyday. I feel sorry for the family who lost a love one, but when God calls his children home they have to be obedient and go. Its sad that it had to happen this way. Does two wrongs make a right? In a comment I seen on another page it said that Brandy should get a year in jail and someone replied that Brandy would be taken away from her daughter then another person said that the family of the deceased was taken away from their daughter, again it was a mistake and it should not be an eye for an eye. Lets all be mature adults WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES! I pray that we all get past this and be a little more careful in all we say and do.

Brandy is smiling on the outside, but how many of us can say we know what is going on in the inside? We have to let this young lady go on and live her life. Im sure she has suffered many nights replaying the whole incident in her head. We should send prayer and not selfish comments.

The law will only allow what a person could have been worth and in this case during her lifetime she would be lucky to make a few million or maybe fortunate enough to make a little more, say 5 million. What was she making per year now? And what would she have made in the future? The law takes that into account as a loss to the family. But the family who sues for that much should get nothing!!! The are gold diggers in my book and taking advantage of Brandy and her celebrity. Now if Brandy died in a car crash then we are talking about a lot of loss of income maybe 50 million over her lifetime. But not this poor women who died according to the God's will. This family needs to seek counseling and help. This is so sad I am commenting on it but that is what blogs are.

I very sorry for the family that lose a love one and I send out my prayer for that family.

But I agree with # 12 because know one really know what's going with her or her life.. so said she was sorry. I know it wouldn't bring her back, but that shows that Brandy do have a huge heart... Let her live her life.. Brandy my prayer goes out to you and your family. love you girl

I think Brandy should have to pay 50 mill to the family that lost thier loved one look at the pics taken 20 days later she doesnt look like she even gives a damn. I think she sould have to do time to. I got a DUI and had to pay about 3 grand she killed somebody and only has to pay 1 grand. you got to love the American justice system whats up with that!!!

I don't think she should be sued for 50 mil because like someone said the family is a gold digger, and someone else said that knowing you killed someone is punishment enough! Come on people 50 million dollars is absurd!
