Jade Goody hid her face from the cameras as she left the London GMTV studios, after a morning appearance on the breakfast show. Jade sat and cried on the studio sofa as she faced questions from the public about her behaviour on Big Brother. As Jade said herself, when she was in the Big Brother house, this show started her career, and Big Brother would probably end it. I don’t think she realised just how true that would become.

I'm no fan of Jade Goody, in fact I'd knew very little of her until this recent Big Brother thing started, but I think that she has been sacrificed by the producers of BB who have hung her out to dry whilst they scurry around trying to justify and secure their positions. OK so Jade has an over inflated image of her importance and is less sophisticated and less able to express herself as eloquently as those that advised and now criticise her, but the outcry and condemnation of her is wholly disproportional to her “crimeâ€. Why an unremarkable argument has been allowed to be whipped up into a bush fire of vitriol by the producers greedy for rating, phone charges and media praise and a caravan of bandwagons that everyone and his dog has jumped onto seems to me to be realising George Orwell’s predictions in a way that even he would have thought exaggerated. Is it possible now in this country to express yourself in any other way than that deem acceptable and controlled by the though police.

I think anon 7.32am you are missing the point - Jade Goody made racist comments as well as leading the bullying of another housemate. She should be held accountable for that - I'm sorry you think that its ok for people to express themselves even when it means making hurtful racist remarks.Yes the producers of BB / Channel 4 are ultimately accountable - allowing the whole saga to carry on as they watched the ratings rise and the premium rate calls to evit her go up but Jade is no scapegoat. She of mixed race origin sat there and made racist comments about someone else's culture and ethnicity on national TV. That's just plain wrong.
tom cruise's emeter. please tell me what you think the racist comment was; the comment that you are condemming this person by. I am not intending to defend or justify an words or actions of anyone else, especially Jade Goody, but I am aware that there is an awful lot of manipulation involved in this whole saga.I am more concerned about a community that is happy to pillory someone for their stupidity than a community that has some people within it that are say stupid things.
