How can such a lovely actress have such a savage dog??
Dear anonymous: Pit Bulls have a bad reputation for being savage animals, but they are not. It's all in how they are raised. That's a really bad generalization.
they are not tights- they are pants. Yoga pants.I agree jules, there are no bad dogs- just bad owners.
yes, that dog is beastly. at least she's a good owner.
Pitbulls rule.....I have one :).
you shouldn't make an opinion about a dog the you probably have never owned. Thanks to the media- they give them this image. Own one then make a statement.
Hoo boy, that dog sure looks nasty. Walking nicely on lead, calm cool and collected. It's too bad people believe propaganda instead of using their noodles.Dogs are dogs, folks, the shape is irrelevant. Just like people.
As a dog trainer, the first thing I noticed is that the dog is walking on a loose leash (not pulling), is looking up at her in one shot, is not going crazy at its surroundings. Overall, a well-trained, well-socialized dog who is not even remotely presenting a danger to the public. Much better than many of the dogs of all breeds that I see every day.
Then why are so many pitbulls involved in dog attacks? And any vet will tell you, they do NOT like other dogs. Yes some can be socialised out of such behaviour, but where I live - Australia - they are officially considered a dangerous dog. They must not be imported into the country and law requires them to be neutered. Thus, in about 15 years, they will officially be extinct in Australia. Yay!Oh, and guns can be used responsibly too, but they are still responsible for the huge murder rate in the US.Back to the lovely Jessica now ...
Anonymous:Actually, as long as you socialize your pit well, they react fine with other dogs. And any dog can be like that. I have a boxer who doesn't react well with dogs bigger than him - he's never been around big dogs before. I have a chihuahua who hates all dogs in general. WHAT A SHOCKER! A dog that isn't a pit bull...and it hates other dogs! I think I might have a heart attack. Oh, and any vet will also tell you that by far the most vicious dogs they deal with every day are...are you ready for this? The little ones. That's right folks, the little chihuahuas, dachshunds, yorkies...I've had several vets tell me that they've never had a problem with a pit bull. They are by far the most even tempered.
Alight, first off, pitbulls are not the only dog involved in dog attacks, rotties, dobermans, and plenty of other breeds, huskies, collies, and yeah even those mini things you see. Your 100% morelikely to be attacked byone of the small toy breeds, than a larger dog. Pitbulls are widly mis-understood, first, they are a dog, they are wild, huskies are wild, any breed is, no matter what they have been bred to 'become domesticated', theres still that wildness, it is not easy to take that out of any animal, pitbulls, because of their association to dog fighting, they are widley used to portray dog attacks, same thing with rotweilers, and dobermans, but no, ive known tons of these dogs, and in general 10 pitbulls, out of those 10 7 you could do anything with, the other 3 had come from guess what? bad owners. Its the image the media plays on you, thats all, buy the breed, trust me, you wont regret it, they truly are great dogs.
