I struggled with anorexia until I went into the Rader Institute for 8 months in 98. It will always be with me, and sobriety for me is eating a certain number of calories daily, no matter what, fat grams, fiber and looking as food as nourishment for the body...simply what it is meant to be. It is a hard time, because foods are manipulated with chemicals, refined and processed that people rarely enjoy or remember the purpose of food. Then add emotional eating, all the weigh loss ads right after Fast food ads. I notice a huge difference when I go back to the Midwest. In LA my natural size is a 0, at 5'6. I am lean through vegetarianism and yoga. I do not weigh myself and if clothing gets larger, I know it is time to work with a nutrionist to gain pounds to fit. It is very sad, that the times I have lost weight due to stress and depression, immediately I am asked if I model. Society as a whole needs be addressed. And I would like to see more commercials supporting weight gain, and healthy eating. I would like to get to my 40's, have children and be a size 2 or 4 and still feel thin. Note, that American clothing companies have supported the obesity epidemic by creating larger sized clothing with smaller actual sizes attached. So my size 0, would have been my mother's size 4 in her day. And yes...sadly a lot of people in the industry use drugs to lose weight. I don't because I know one day they must quit, and they always gain weight after. That scares me, even though I am in recovery. Note the latest drug for "attention deficit, Adderall, being used by questionable anorexics, that I would bet is used for weight loss...not Attention Deficit Disorder". Enough money can by out docs unethical practices. It's really sad! Anna Nicole should never had that cocktail of drugs, and why does no one talk about the Trim Spa mixed in? Oh...that may hurt sales.....
